5 Social Media Tools for Fun or Profit

Our Crazy Week in a nutshell:

How was your week?  In a word for us…Bananas.

We like it crazy here at Siren Media Marketing, and this week was no different. Here are a few things that came across our desk that we would like to pass on to you.

First on tap is an expansion for one of the top three Social Media Platforms : Pinterest. If you don’t know what it is, or haven’t joined you should.

Pinterest is one of the fastest growing tools for Social Media recognition and it’s free.

Demographics show a huge percentage are Women, but more and more men are getting involved once they see it’s value.

1.Pinterest:

For those of you that are into virtual scrapbooking for your business or just for pleasure. Pinterest is now available in Spanish.

2.It’s called Amara

Here’s a great Idea for captioning your videos and an excellent SEO tool to boost your business. Amara – Not to be confused with Amara software.

It’s free to sign up and you can get an account through either Facebook, Twitter, Google.

-Improve SEO, reach a global audience

3.Foursquare

Everyday there is an upgrade or a new tweak for our apps.

Foursquare is no different.  Foursquare rebuilt their app from the ground up For Android , Apple and coming for Blackberry .

What is Foursquare?  Launched around 2009. Is a location-based App for Android and iPhone and it’s free.

You check in, you can leave tips on your experience at a Restaurant, shopping and other businesses.  You can set up a Personal page and/or Business a page.

Foursquare and be integrated with Facebook and Twitter. Businesses run specials for clients and potential patrons.

Some are still trying to figure that out. In Foursquare’s words :

You can Keep up with friends Discover what’s nearby Save money & unlock rewards.

The Siren Media Marketing crew has enjoyed many a free drink thanks to checking in with Foursquare.

Here is a pretty detailed instructional video on Foursquare. It’s a couple of years old, but a lot of what Matthew talks about applies to the newer version of Foursquare.

5. Mountain Lion

And Finally, this week was the official launch, Apple’s Mountain Lion, their latest version of Apple’s desktop operating system,  And according to a report by Ad Network Chitika  it has already captured 3.2% of Mac web traffic

with over 200 features and an amazing price that can’t be beat. $19.99 .

Included:  you can click the Sharing Button to send items through e-mail, via Messages, to social sites, and other options based on the current app and content you are sharing.
